About Us
Hello, C.H.S. is a family owned and operated local business and we are long time residents of Central Illinois and currently reside in Washington, IL. We started in the home improvement industry in 1990. Our expertise was with high efficiency residential products that included replacement windows in Illinois and replacement doors. This expertise shortly grew to include other home energy improvement and building products such as insulation, exterior siding, special glass coatings, roofing, attic ventilation, room additions, and outdoor living spaces (decks).
Not too many years ago, we realized that with all of the advancements in building technologies and product/ installation enhancements that many contractors were still years behind. The energy efficiency advancements and discovery of new technologies gave the ability to greatly enhance and improve the energy usage of a home. However, if used in an improper manner these technologies could create an improper balance of the building envelope. This could cause the opposite of what was expected. Instead of improving the home's energy usage it would decrease it's effectiveness. These products used in an improper manner could cause a home to not breathe properly, it could cause uneven heating and cooling, it could even cause damaging effects to the home's structure. The advancements of these products is ever changing new options and features occur every day. This can be great for a consumer, but also confusing at the same time. Most contractors understand the installation practices, but very few rarely educate themselves about the products and the products ability.
I decided that C.H.S. would focus our attention on properly educating homeowners about their homes and the product choices. We want the homeowners to truly understand the difference between products that on the surface look very similar but preform vary differently. We believe a homeowner needs to be informed of their options, understand the differences, and be aware of the positive or even negative effects of any improvement they might have done to their home.
We decided to focus our companies efforts to raise the bar in our industry with exceptional training, manufacture certification, and factory direct purchasing to lower the costs for the customers.
